Why the desktop app

Everything the browser build does, plus the three things a browser tab is not allowed to do: reach your mailbox, load a career site inside the app, and talk to a model running on your own machine.

Works offlineWith a local profile, your résumés and personal data stay on your machine, and the app keeps working with the network off.
Your own AI, your own keysUse your own key from a cloud AI provider, a model running on the same machine, or the built-in model. How to set it up.
A browser inside the app, with the ads goneOpen a posting, sign in to the careers site and apply without leaving Vulture, in a session that resolves over DNS-over-HTTPS: ads and trackers are dropped before the page can load them. Pick another resolver whenever you like.
Inbox for the searchConnect any IMAP mailbox with an app password. Recruiter mail, replies and attachments sit beside the application they belong to.
Career pages read directlyHundreds of company career pages are read straight from your machine.
Pro looks includedEvery theme and background effect is on by default in the desktop build.

Same data everywhere

An optional online account syncs résumés, the tracker and notes between the desktop app and the browser, encrypted before it is stored, within a storage allowance shown in the app. A local profile has no allowance to think about: its storage is whatever the machine holds.

Is it really free?
Yes. The whole app is free, with no watermark and no trial. Some hosted extras, such as shared web search, are switched on per account when you ask for them.
What needs the desktop app?
The Inbox, the built-in browser, a local Ollama model and reading career pages directly. Résumés, scoring, the AI check, cover letters and the tracker all work in the browser too.
Which Windows versions?
Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit. The macOS build runs on both Arm and x86 Macs; Linux ships as an AppImage.
